Welding

The welding program is a two year program that prepares students for employment in the manufacturing industry.  Curriculum was developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) in collaboration with Mississippi Construction Education Foundation (MCEF).  Students begin gaining national credentials as soon as their first few weeks of class.  By the end of their second year, students should have mastered and obtained national certifications through NCCER for both Core and Level 1 Welding.  The program includes an in-depth study and hands-on learning for hand and power tools, material handling, oxyfuel cutting, SMAW electrodes, beads, and fillet welds, groove welds with backing, open-root grove welds-plate, base metal preparation, plasma arc cutting,  and several other basic welding areas.
